Family's Residence dish was the important one part of Lu dishes.It was the longest
one of diverse Chinese dishes which developed in history. Confucius' Family's
Residence Banquet was originally the specialhigh-grade banquet for receiving distinguished
guestsand¡¡festivals. As many of the ladies in the Confucius' Family's
Residence came from the distinguished families of various places in China with
their own cookers, Confucius' Family's Residence banquet could be renovated continuously
by combining different features of various schools of cooking.It gradually became
a characteristic family banquet. The Confucius' Family's Residence dishes were
classified as banquet dishes and dishes for everyday life. The banquet is in various
grades and ranks. One of the two first-class banquet was "Manzhou and Han
Banquet" originally made for the emperors and the imperial envoys. There
were 404 dinner sets at the banquet and 108 dishes were delivered. The other is
called the whole "burned and toasted sheep". The second-class banquet
was provided in birthday, festivals, wedding ceremonies and funeral days, memorial
days and for receiving distinguished guests.
